Really nice helmet but LOUD! LOUD! LOUD!

-UPDATE - I have to update my review in fairness to HJC. I stood up on my pegs the other day at highway speed to get out the turbulence behind my wind screen and to see how this helmet performed out of the turbulent air; the CS-R2 quieted right down and was no louder than any other helmet I have had in the past. Seems I'm in the market for a new windscreen not a new helmet. As I said earlier the ventilation, fit and finish of this helmet is outstanding particurlarly for the price. (This is a different bike that the one I was riding with my other HJC helmet and aparently a lot les aerodynamic.) I'm updating my review to 5 stars.

Great bang for the buck but... This is my second HJC, the first was a modular that I really liked and just wore out. I needed a replacement in a hurry and bought this one off the shelf at my local dealer. Fit, finish, ventilation and price are great but this helmet is incredibly loud from wind noise. I wear ear plugs and it's sti ll too loud. Forget about listening to music at any reasonable volume level. I commute with this helmet and just endure the noise for the relatively short duration of the ride but I won't tour with this helmet. I'd be deaf or crazy or both if I had to wear this for long hours in the saddle. I'll be looking for something quieter before my next trip..
